Health Information Management (HIM) is the crossroads of clinical information and financial reporting. The department strives to maintain documentation completion and timely coded episodes of care for inpatients and outpatients with high quality. At times, the efforts to quickly get cases coded results in coding errors, incomplete documentation, and opportunities to increase reimbursement.
